Korea Grand Prix Gold 2012: Ki Jung Kim and Sa Rang Kim stepped into Men’s Doubles semi-final
Ki Jung Kim and Sa Rang Kim, the most talented shuttlers from Korea, showed a great performance in the arena and secured their berth in Men’s Doubles semi-final of the Korea Grand Prix Gold 2012 on Friday, December 7, in Korea.
In the quarter-final battle, Korean shuttlers displayed their elevated craft and overpowered Malaysia’s Kah Ming Chooi and Yao Han Ow in a completely dominating fashion.
The impressive Ki Jung and Sa Rang, who were top seeds in Men’s Singles main draw in the championship, put up spectacular show of top class badminton and remained successful in winning the battle in just 32 minutes.
Korean players were in smashing form as they played with impressive confidence all the way and managed to end up the winning run of their Malaysian challengers by beating them in straight games with a wonderful margin.
On the other hand, the eighth seeded Kah Ming and Yao Han failed to play dominating badminton as they could not live up to the expectations while playing against the top seeded Korean pair and lost to them without taking any game.
In the starting game, Ki Jung and Sa Rang showed a wonderful aggression on court from the opening points and they built a wonderful pressure on their Malaysian rivals.
The tempo of the rallies was very quite fast and Ki Jung and Sa Rang entertained their home fans by playing with wonderful control in their shots.
Until the mid-game interval, the higher ranked Ki Jung and Sa Rang were in strong position as they were leading the game with a wonderful gap on the board.
After the one-minute interval, the top seeded Korean players stayed focused on court and remained successful in keeping a comfortable gap.
Ki Jung and Sa Rang did not let their rivals to get close on score board all the way and bagged the opening game with an inspiring margin of 21-13.
In the second game, Korean shuttlers continued playing with precision but they could not manage a comfortable lead until the end of opening half.
However, Ki Jung and Sa Rang played composed badminton in the concluding half of second game and they managed to wind it up with a reasonable margin of 21-18.
The in-form Korean shuttlers easily won this quarter-final fight in straight sets with a dominating 21-13 and 21-18 score on the board.
