Korea Grand Prix Gold 2012: Yeni Asmarani overpowers Yurie Kinoshita in Women’s Singles first round
Indonesia’s most impressive shuttler in the younger lot Yeni Asmarani showed a wonderful performance in Women’s Singles first round when she overpowered Japan’s Yurie Kinoshita at Korea Grand Prix Gold 2012 on Wednesday, December 5, in Korea.
The in-form Asmarani, who has been making her presence felt in the recent events, displayed her lofty skills in the arena and managed to show exit to her Japanese rival without facing any problem in 40 minutes.
Indonesian lady was confident and quick in the arena and played attacking badminton all the way and ended up this Women’s Singles contest in straight sets with a reasonable margin on the score board.
On the other hand, Kinoshita tried her best to put up strong show as she played attacking game but failed to dictate the pace of rallies at any stage and eventually lost this fight with a respectable total.
In the first game, Asmarani performed remarkably well from the initial points as she displayed her attacking skills and grabbed the control of driving seat.
Asmarani was quite comfortable in getting the bird early and she sailed smoothly at the opening stage of the match.
Indonesian shuttler stayed in dictating position all the way to set up a phenomenal lead in the opening half until the one-minute break.
After the interval, the in-form Asmarani stayed focused in the arena and easily maintained a reasonable gap on score board.
The positive and aggressive play of Asmarani helped her creating pressure on Japanese shuttler and she managed to win the opening game with a convincing margin of 21-17.
In the second game, Kinoshita worked really hard to stay focused in the arena but she could not control the pace of rallies as her Indonesian challenger was playing flawless badminton.
Until the one-minute break, Asmarani remained in control and she managed to set up a reasonable lead on score board.
After the interval, the positive and aggressive approach assisted the Indonesian shuttler to wrap up the set with a striking margin of 21-15.
Asmarani emerged as the winner against Kinoshita in this starting round contest with a dominating 21-17 and 21-15 score on the board.
