Korea Grand Prix Gold: So Hee Lee and Seung Chan Shin reach at Women’s Doubles quarter-final stage
So Hee Lee and Seung Chan Shin, the spirited shuttlers from Korea, cheered their home fans as they played flawless badminton and stormed into Women’s Doubles quarter-final at Korea Grand Prix Gold 2012 on Thursday, December 6, in Korea.
In the pre-quarter-final contest, Korean players showed their impressive craft and ousted Chinese Taipei’s Pai Jou Chen and Hsin h*i Huang in a smashing fashion by taking just 23 minutes on court.
The third seeded So Hee and Seung Chan, who has been showing a wonderful passion in the recent tournaments, continued putting up spectacular show of positive and aggressive badminton and easily secured a quarter-final berth.
Korean players were in remarkable form as they showed great confidence in the arena and remained successful in winning against their lower ranked Taipei challengers in straight games with a one-sided margin on the board.
In contrast, Pai Jou and Hsin h*i were in all sorts of trouble as they failed to play positive badminton and remained unable to cope up with the incredible speed of their challengers. They lost the match easily without even getting close.
In the starting game, the aggressive So Hee and Seung Chan delivered an unmatched show on court as they played attacking shots with incredible deception from opening rallies.
The impressive So Hee and Seung Chan did not show any mercy to their challengers and easily set up a huge lead on score board until the end of opening half.
After the break, the Taipei shuttlers failed to play positive game as they could not control the pace of rallies and remained struggling in the event.
Korean shuttlers did not slow down their speed at any stage and remained successful in winding up the opening game with a crushing 21-9 score on the board.
In the second game, the higher ranked So Hee and Seung Chan played in the similar aggressive manner and remained successful in taking a superb lead until the end of opening half.
After the one-minute break, So Hee and Seung Chan continued putting up spectacular show and managed to grab the second game with a huge margin of 21-7.
The third seeded So Hee displayed their incredible skills all the way and won this battle in straight games with a one-sided 21-9 and 21-7 score on the board.
