Korea defeats Tunisia by 3-0 in FIVB Volleyball Women´s Junior World Championship match
Game two in Pool G of the second round of the FIVB Volleyball Women´s Junior World Championship was played between Korea and Tunisia on Thursday, 28th July. The venue for the contest was the Eduardo Dibos Gymnasium in Lima, Peru. The match was
won by the Korean as they swept their rivals in a little over one hour by 3-0.
The Koreans won each of the three sets in a convincing manner and by a comfortable margin. The score board showed the following final set scores: 25-17, 25-17 and 25-17.
The Korean coach, Gi-Ju Park, made the following comments at the press conference that was held after the match: “In our first match we won over Poland 3-2 and now to Tunisia for 3-0.  We were very proud of it. Today, excuse me for what I'm going to say
(looking at Tunisia coach), but they were not our opponents.”
On the other hand, the Tunisian coach, Slim Ben Kaid, expressed himself by giving the following statements: “This match was better than yesterday. Every time we start the set with an advantage of four points and then we have many mistakes. We could play
by moments because our attacks could pass Korean’s block and we managed to obtain 17 points in each set.”
The start of the first set of the game saw the Tunisian side struggle but the Koreans prevailed in taking dominance on the courts. Korea had the lead at 8-4 when the first technical time out was called. The Tunisian team did not manage to assert themselves
and the Koreans were able to extend their advantage to 16-9. After that, the Tunisians lost steam and the Koreans sailed smoothly towards a win at 25-17.
The Koreans started off the second set well and had the lead at 8-6. As the game progressed, the Tunisians played catch up while the Koreans were racing ahead with a 15-10 advantage. The African team could not score any more points till the second technical
time out that saw the Koreans in the lead at 16-10. The blocking of the Tunisian side did not provide much resistance to the Koreans as they claimed the set at 25-17.
Like the first two sets of the game, the third set progressed the same way and ended in a Korean win at 25-17.
With their recent win, the Koreans were able to show a record that boosts a win against two losses. On the other hand, the Tunisian side has not won a single match in the second round of the tournament. Next in line for both the teams is the classification
semi-final round that will be held on the 30th of July.
