Korea overpowers Hong Kong to surge into semi-finals of Asian Junior Championships 2012

Korea gained access to semi-final round of Badminton Asia Youth Under-19 Mixed Team Championships after surpassing Hong Kong in the quarter-finals on July 1, 2012.
This quarter-final match of prestigious team event comprised five ties and winners earned the right to be in second last round by finishing this battle with a 3-2 result.
Now they will have to outclass the higher ranked Japanese team to proceed into title match of the tournament.
Earlier in round of eight, Mixed Doubles experts Chun Hei Lee and Sin Ying Yuen fetched first match point for the team by unseating Sol Kyu Choi-Yoo Jung Chae in an epic tussle.
Both contenders entertained the crowd for 48 minutes and earned a great deal of admiration for their fighting spirit.
Korean campaigners managed to put favourable figures of 21-14, 15-21 and 21-18 after three gruelling sets.
However, Men’s Singles shuttler Jae Wook Jung could not follow the successful trail and got pale in front of Ka Long Ng.
This battle was resolved in only 29 minutes and Hong Kong player levelled match score by registering convincing margin of 21-14 and 21-18.
Next tie was Women’s Singles encounter in which Hyo Min Kim was scheduled to meet Wing Chiu Tsang.
This game was played at top speed and Hyo Min wrapped the show in just 26 minutes. She did not give her rival even a single counter-attack opportunity.
She established an upper hand with 21-11 total in first set and then pushed her challenger into the dark with a dazzling figure of 21-11.
The match kept swinging between two countries as Men’s Doubles team Ka Long Ng-Chun Hei Lee of Hong Kong equalled match score in very next encounter.
They overpowered Se Woong Park-Sol Kyu Choi in just two games by entering final result of 21-18 and 22-20.
Last segment of the match turned in to the survival of the fittest battle with this revised status. Both countries were expecting their Women’s Doubles teams to lock the honour.
However, Sin Ying Yuen-Ying Mei Cheung could not lift the burden of expectations and knelt down against Korean ladies Seung Chan Shin-So Hee Lee after reading 9-21 and 3-21 margin.
