Korea track suffers more problems
Korea’s hopes of hosting a Formula One grand prix have been further hit with the news that a crane has crashed into the main grandstand.
Korea is set to stage a grand prix on the 24th October at the Yeongam circuit in one of Formula One’s most exciting seasons. Organisers have already been experiencing problems, with reports saying work for the venue is yet to be complete.
Despite missing the deadline for the standard inspection from the sport’s governing body, the FIA, of 90 days before the race, organisers have insisted they will be ready in time.
An inspection is set for the 11th October, but this could now be in doubt following the construction crane crashing into the grandstand on the start/finish straight, causing damage and further delays.
