Korean boys dominate the Under-21, U-18 and U-15 of the ITTF ranking - Table Tennis News

The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) has issued their monthly World ranking for the Under-21 Boys for May, earlier in the last week of April. The top rank spot holder remained the same, as Xu Xin from China retained his position on the ranking. Koreans are in strong positions on the top ranks of the new ranking.
There were major changes seen in the standings below the top seed. Kenta Matsudaira from Japan exchanged places with Kim Min Seok from Korea. Kenta is now occupying the Number Two seed followed by Kim Seok on the Number Three rank.
Kim Min Seok faced defeat at the Spanish Open in the Under-21 Men's singles category against Quentin Robinot from France. He would not have dropped one position if he had not been defeated in the Spanish Open, as he earlier defeated Vladimir Samsonov in the quarter-final of the Spanish open at Almeria.
There are four Koreans among the top seven players in the U-21 Men’s World ranking. Seo Hyun Deok climbs from eighth rank to fourth, while Lee Sang Su is now the fifth seed. Jung Young Sik is on seventh and Alexander Shibaev from Russia holds the eighth spot.
The top seeds of the Under-18 and Unerd-15 remain the same. Koki Niwa from Japan is the top seeded player as he was defeated at the Junior Boys’ Singles final held at the Calvo Enterprises Guam Junior and Cadet Open. Choi Deok Hwa from Korea ousted the Japanese. Following him are Lin Gaoyuan and Song Hongyuan from China, in the Under-18 Boys singles category.
In the Under-15 Boys category, there are no major changes as China’s Zheng Peifeng and Konmg Lingxuan have retained the top two positions. His compatriot Zhu Linfeng moved from the fifth to third position. Japan’s Asuka Saki and Yuto Muramatsu both dropped one place.
The upcoming tournament at Rotterdam, Netherlands, will surely be a test of the nerves and skills of the young players. Korean players are dominating the Under-21 and Under-15 category along with the Japanese.
Koreans will be the strongest contenders for the title of the Guangzhou Automobile Group (GAC) World Championship, which will be held next month at Netherlands from May 8-15, 2011.
