Korean ladies leading the Avnet LPGA Classic – Golf update
South Korean golfers, Grace Park and Song-Hee Kim, posted 67s to lead after the first round of Avnet LPGA Classic. Taking place at the Magnolia Groove Crossing Club in Alabama, the Avnet Classic has gotten the LPGA ladies competing for victory. Park just
recently got back into competitive golf as the player took a break due to injury. As for the other leader Kim, the round didn’t start off very well for her but she had it under control as she played the last hole.
Park, who is appearing after a couple of seasons off, started off on the back nine as a birdie on the twelfth hole really boosted her spirits. Making an amazing eagle on the thirteenth hole, the talented lady put the golf course on fire. Park slipped when
she bogeyed the fifteenth hole but recovered as she birdied the sixteenth. Making three more birdies on the front nine and a bogey, the player finished the first round with a five under par 67.
“Obviously when you finish the round at 5-under, everything has to go pretty well," said Park."Everything was just easy and smooth today. Made a couple of mistakes, but overall in these windy conditions I stayed very consistent to the green and rolled in
some putts, and

birdied the last two holes to finish at 5-under."
In the last three years, Park has only managed to make eight cuts hence a lead like this was surely good news for her.
The other leader of the day didn’t start of very well as she bogeyed the first hole. Kim got right back on track after she made birdie on the second hole. Making three back to back birdies from hole number five to hole number seven, Kim was on a role. The
back nine were decent as the player made a birdie on the thirteenth hole. Kim made another bogey on the fourteenth hole but ended well as she birdied the fifteenth and seventeenth hole.
The player said she felt really honoured to lead with Grace Park and she really liked making most of her putts. The next round will further separate the leaders from the rest of the pack.
