  1. these has sterned from racism, of course. i'm korean-chinese, and neither can i understand the whole thing about korean men. in the same way, many people think that chinese men are a bunch of wife-bullying, perverse and disgusting people.

  2. It comes from ignorant people with no lives.

Those Korean men stereotypes aren't true, and I truly hate people that assume someone's a certain way beacause of their race or who they are.

  3. Believe it or not, some of them stem from racism, which stems from ignorance.. also a result of bad/unfortunate experiences with Korean (men) and both sides are to blame (-even though I don't like using that word, can't think of other.) Some need to be more informed than others and I know it's hard, but people should try to hear each other out a little more. Anyway, some of it is also true and like one of the responders mentioned, no one is praising it. One that sticks out the most obviously is beating/'punishing' family members. Doesn't matter what part of the world anyone is from, I am very against that.

From a gender point of view, men and women sometimes compete with other men and women, say for places in the work field, partners/spouses etc. I feel that's bound for some people to feel jealous or 'below' other people. As a result, some Korean men get jealous of successful foreign men living in Korea, and in return some foreign men living in Korea get really arrogant and think they're big hot shots compared to Korean men. I feel some of them are personality issues that need to be dealt with on both sides.

I wonder why Gene H and v-man/busan-man (from Seattle) etc. aren't answering this question.

  4. Korean dudes r kewl.

  5. Not all korean men are like that :(

Men who enjoy smoking and drinking after work are quite common in Korea. Actually, it's kind of normal and there are cases where men do beat their wives, but it is considered a horrible thing in korea just like in other countries. This is probably why some people think like that.  It's really sad. They might also think that they are "girly-er than girls" because alot of high school korean guys are very concerned about the way they dress and look. There are different kinds of personalities among the koreans like other places, whoever made up this g*y, wife-beating, weak, geek, and girly-er than girls concept wasn't being too reasonable.

  6. Yeah at my school all the other Asian guys associate Korean guys with "beating"...it's not true because I'm Korean. But I think it's just a culture thing, what they see in media or stories they hear. If anything, you should show those ppl pics of Wonbin, Lee Byung-hun and other Korean guys who are definitely NOT weak, geeky, or girly. : )

  7. lol thats bull**** (srry for the language) like all stereotypes these probably come from a rare incident which was spread round by mouth and some people dumb enough have picked this up and have judged a whole race of people.

  8. Korean men stereotypes, American men stereotypes unless you know every Korean man in the world ot every American man in the world you cannot make such stupid judgements....only idiots think like this

I have had many Korean male and American male friends and the stereotypes are lies and trash..Now I will eat some Kimchi and Pizza...by the way Killy Gonzo and Lombard are nothing like my Korean male friends..Well my Korean male friends were real men........
