I am taking out some dinner guests and there are people keep kosher and hallal.

Will kosher eaters eat at a hallal restaurant and vice versa?

  1. why dont you ask them

  2. Religions are stupid. What the h**l difference does it make if you eat pig or not? People are stupid.

  3. Oh, this is like a bed game: you could if u would.

  4. Yes and no.

Both kosher and hallal rules come from the old testament but there are many variations in their application. Even amongst kosher Jews there are disagreements about what is kosher and what is not, based on different kinds of rules Jews follow.

Also, kosher tends to be political but hallal not. (Example: Pepsi or Coke (can't recall which) where threatened with withdrawal of kosher certification because their billboards included dinosaurs.)

So it really depends upon how the individual Jew/Muslim want to interpret/apply the rules.

My suggestion is to find a restaurant which has a wide menu, caters for kosher and hallal, then tell all your guests where you are taking them so they can make a decision.

  5. i heard that kosher eaters dont eat halal .....however halal eaters eat kosher...soo take them 2 a kosher restaurant

  6. From past experience it is usually safe to go to a Kosher restaurant as it is more stringent then Hallal. At least that is what my Muslim Friends say.

  7. To avoid embarrassment or back-biting, just ask them. You wont get jews eating at a muslim eatery easily. Be on the safe side, ask them. Dont surprise them either, they may not appreciate it.
