  1. No Ireland has no debt whatsoever toward the EU.

But it did experienced that the EU can be very very effective and have a very positive impact on a country. That's why they should vote yes.

  2. No, because they are voting on only one particular issue - which is the loss of powers in the Lisbon Treaty. It isn't yet about their whole future in the EU.

  3. ireland  does not owe a debt to the EU just because our road system is much improved with EU money to which WE have contributed........any benefits ANY member country has from being part of the union  are the reason  we joined in the first place.....its the way it works, benefits and responsibilities..............the problem is the actual detail of the lisbon agreement which would mean ireland gives up a huge chunk of its autonomy as a nation and that goes far beyond the spirit of the EU.....Germany already dominates europe and they are to increase their position at ireland's expense....ireland is nobody's satellite....we've spent years making that clear and we shouldn't  allow it to happen now!!

  4. NO! We are counting on Ireland to vote with her conscience. A yes vote gives the EU the power to make decisions about immigration to the UK, and asylum seekers. The last thing we need is more power devolved to a federation to make decisions to our detriment. Come on Ireland defeat this vile treaty, the whole of the UK is counting on you.

  5. if i were irish i would vote no, and as i am english we haven't been given the choice to say no

  6. Kouchner is the voice of european administration.

  7. Even if Ireland did have a debt towards the EU, why should that mean the Irish should not vote against the treaty? The Irish can do whatever they d**n well like, and for Europe to say that they owe the EU a yes vote is ridiculous, especially when there are so many good reasons for them to vote against it.

  8. Ireland is by far the EU's biggest success story. Subsidies have made a huge difference to the economy and standard of living in Ireland. 20 years ago unemployment was 20%, the highest in Europe and the economy was on the brink of collapse, now it's one of the wealthiest countries in Europe. So yes, you could say the Ireland owes the EU!

  9. Feck the EU, they are the most pathetic waste of money since MP's ir EMP's were invented!
