Kowloon Conner to strike hat-trick in The Tomah Engineers Stakes at Sheffield
Kowloon Conner’s ability to lead in the early stages is enough to cite him as the most likely winner of the Tomah Engineers Stakes at Sheffield on Tuesday, August 28, 2012.
Looking at his recent stats, one can easily comprehend how dangerous he can be on his day. Winning three of previous four races is another factor, which will attract a lot of punters today. The black dog made his way back to the open level following a tremendous
victory here at the start of this month.
He secured well-deserved second place in an open race at Nottingham. The runner-up spot was not enough to fulfil Kowloon Conner’s hunger for glory, and the dashing hound made a couple of fascinating trips earlier this month.
After proving too good for his opponents over 500 metres, Hondo Black’s son went to Nottingham, and displayed an equally good show over 480 metres. Clocking a decent time of 29.89 seconds, The B. Draper-trained notched up the first rank by a length’s distance.
No one can afford to overlook his chances for the top rank after two consecutive triumphs. If he succeeds in taking an early advantage, no hound will be able to stop him from bagging a comprehensive win.
Other hounds in the pack are: Droopys Alex, Rince Cosmo, Droopys Pride, Jolly Girl and Tewmax Leejay. The action will be started at 19:42 GMT. A prize of £200 is reserved for the successful runner.
Droopys Alex was a massive eyecatcher on debut, and has very nice prospects. Luck was not only thing that prevented him from starting off his journey on a winning note, as he missed the gold medal only by a head’s distance. After a fantastic outing, his
confidence would be at a high, but the pressure is bigger this time.
Rince Cosmo should be suited by this draw. The brindle b***h is not in good rhythm though. Tewmax Leejay was not impressive on recent trial outing. Droopys Pride clearly has speed, but needs to stay out of trouble. Jolly Girl clocked a smart sprint time
at Kinsley, but this is far from easy.
Droopys Alex is the only big threat to Kowloon Conner. An exciting battle between the pair is on the cards. Good luck to all the hounds.
