Kraft Nabisco Championship: Yani Tseng loses momentum in last two rounds to settle for third
Yani Tseng, who vowed to cut her rivals down to size in the Kraft Nabisco Championship 2012, played at the Mission Hills Country Club, lost her momentum in the final two rounds, settling for the third spot.
Tseng played amazingly well right from the start of the $2 million major championship and maintained an upper hand over rivals in the first two rounds.
However, her worse-than-expected performance in the third and fourth rounds made a dent in her position on the leaderboard.

Tseng kicked off the tournament with plenty of confidence and carded a 68 in the first round. The field was fearsome, but the Taiwanese star kept the rivals at bay.
She reeled off six birdies on the opening day, but faltered on the difficult par-3 8th, recording a bogey.
She faced some resistance from Amy Yang of Korea at the beginning, settling for the third position.
However, the second round proved lucky for the world number one, as she romped to the top of the leaderboard. She exhibited a stunning game and shot 5 birdies to record the same 68 as the first round.
Tseng could not maintain her magic form in the third and fourth rounds, messing up her hard-earned position. She carded a 71 and 73 in the third and fourth rounds, respectively.
Analysts had predicted before the major championship that Yani Tseng would likely grab the title, given her good form in the last matches that she has participated in.
Tseng vowed to do her best in the Kraft Nabisco Championship, as she said that she was desperate to win the event after losing to Stacy Lewis last year.
Tseng played the 2011 edition in an impressive style, but lost her momentum in the final moments.
She said that she would try to atone for the lapses she made in the tournament and win the 2012 edition.
“I know my emotional control wasn’t very good. I was very stressed after I missed a putt, after I made a bad shot,” she had said during her interview after losing the major title to Lewis.
“But after that tournament, I had a little meeting with my team, my trainer, to see how much I can improve on the tournament, and I did after that. I learned how I can win in a tournament when I was leading on Sunday or when I was behind on Sunday,” she
added.
