Kraft Nabisco Championship joins hands with Feeding America and FIND Food Bank in the fight against hunger
The Kraft Nabisco Championship is doing more than just pitting players from Great Britain & Ireland and America, as it has reportedly joined hands with Feeding America and FIND Food Bank in the fight against hunger.
The Championship, women’s major event, has mapped out plans to use its resources to help eradicate hunger in poverty-stricken areas.
According to the details, there are multiple programmes on the card, with the Championship donating its new Kraft Foods Mobile Pantry truck.
The truck will deliver food supplies arranged by FIND Food Bank to different areas.
Initially, Kraft Foods Mobile Pantry truck will transport food for residents of Coachella Valley.
The Valley is believed to be suffering from acute hunger, and the move from Kraft Nabisco Championship will help the officials stamp out poverty to some extent.
Not only this, the Kraft Nabisco Championship will also work in close cooperation with Feeding America. The Championship officials have made arrangements to provide meals to Feeding America.
Feeding America programme runs a big charity that caters to thousands of people struggling with hunger
Appreciating the partnership between the two entities for a noble cause, Executive Director and Tournament Chairman David Blake-Thomas said that he is happy to see people benefitting from this anti-hunger programme.
He shed light on the Kraft Nabisco Championship’s contribution to social issues, saying the tournament has long been involved in such activities.
He added that the officials have made sure that the programme will be run according to the plans.
“The Kraft Nabisco Championship has a long history of partnering with charitable organizations to make a difference in the Coachella Valley community,” said Thomas
He added, “This year, we’ve committed to not only helping the local community through FIND Food Bank, but we’ve also partnered with Feeding America to help those facing hunger insecurities across the country”.
He concluded, “Together, we aim to help relieve some of the stress among those who do not know when their next meal is coming from”.
The Kraft Nabisco Championship is going to start from March 26 to April 1, 2012, at Mission Hills, Rancho Mirage, CA.
The tournament is expected to feature a rich field comprising leading players on the LPGA.
