Krakow, worth visiting?

Me and my partner are thinking of going to Krakow for a weekend.

Was wondering what people have thought of the place, and what are the top five places anyone would recommend visiting. Thanks

Yup its a great place, way better than Warsaw or Gdansk.

Beautiful city, the palace is like a fairy tale and the shopping centre in the old market sublime! Food is good, local vodka is unbelievable (I normally hate vodka). While there visit the salt mines with the cathedral carved inside, great. That is all you will have time to see

For sure, that's what I've heard.  Krakow was not hit as hard during WWII, so it kept a lot of Poland's culture whereas Warsaw had to rebuild almost everything.  Check out wikitravel.org for more insight into what Krakow has to offer.  I'd love very much one day to travel there.
