Kribensis breeding? any tips? ?

i have had about 5 batches but they always die I am going to separate the parents into a separate tank from the community tank to breed. will this work? does anyone have any tips or tricks? I am desperate.

  1. Well I haven't tried it, but I read that the male is attracted to the females intense red coloration.

    1.Put a plant pot upside down, with a hole cut in the side for the kribensis to live in.

    2. After flirting and such with one another, they will dig holes together and select the best place to raise their children.

    3, When they are happy with their digging spot, the female will disappear for a few days, then emerges with a group of her children.

    4. When the fry are born you can feed them baby brine shrimp and crushed flake food. Good Luck!

    Mine have a plastic cave each in a 12 UK gallon tank. I've done absolutely nothing to encourage breeding. PH is around 6.8, temp 24C. Every so often they breed successfully.

    Tank mates are 2 African Butterfly Fish, 3 Ruby Barbs and 5 Pentazonal Barbs.
