  1. What other fish will it be living with?  It is a cichlid, and I have 1 krib that I originally put in a large tank with Bolivian and Balloon Rams and clown loaches, and I ended up having to move it to another tank.  Now it lives with 5 various loaches and 3 catfish and is fine, but it is also the only real swimmer living with a bunch of bottom-feeders.  It STILL gets a little nippy around feeding time with the cats, so I would have to say, NO.

  2. i'm sorry, but that's an absolute NO NO

kribs shouldn't be kept in anything less then a 20 gallon tank, and then you should keep them with schooling fish and not with outher community fish

also they should be kept in pairs as well

they need much more then just a cave, they need room to swim

they're highly territorial, they're peaceful, but with anything other then schooling fish and a bristlenose pleco, i wouldn't keep them at all

i have a pair in a 55 gallon with another pair of blue rams

and that's just enough swimming room for them and territory room for them to establish

in 20 gallon tank you could keep

    1 pair of kribs

    6 short finned serpae tetras

    6 silver tipped tetras

    1 bristlenose pleco

with that this tank would be already stocked to the max

    Edit*

    you're right Ian

the fighting comes due to breeding time

but i would still not put a krib even a single one in anything less then a 20 gallon though

and my 20 gallon for a pair is most likely even a bit to small

a 29 would be even better for a pair to keep in

  3. Yes.

I have one on a 20gal, with neons and guppies. No problems.

They do like a cave or some other shelter.

    Ian

Edit: I dont agree with the needing a pair thing. If they pair up, they are likely to breed, and thats when you will get aggression. They will chase other fish away from their territory, and if the tank is small, then you have a problem. Yes the Krib would probably like a mate, but they dont NEED one, and cause less bother without one. A pair in a 55gal would be great though.
