Kris Carslaw looking to take Brian Rose’s BBBC British light middleweight title – Boxing news
Kris Carslaw, the former British Masters light middleweight champion, will put all his sweat and breath in order to dethrone fellow countryman Brian Rose, the current BBBC British light middleweight champion, from his reign in a 12-round bout to be held
on June 2, 2012.
The duo will headline the hefty bout-stacked pay-per-view jointly organised and promoted by Frank Maloney of Maloney Promotions and Steve Wood of VIP Promotions. The ring for the showdown will be set up at Bowler’s Arena, Manchester, Lancashire, United Kingdom.
The showdown will be co-headlined by the Commonwealth lightweight title-eliminator bout between Carl Johanneson and Chris Goodwin and will be televised live on Sky TV.
Kris, 27, who is trying to make his way up in the light middleweight division, has been in a total 16 bouts and boasts 15 wins. The southpaw pugilist has nailed just three opponents by knockout and as far as the technicalities and stats are concerned stands
no chance at all in front of Brian Rose.
Carslaw recently collected his career’s only loss from Matthew Hall and then made an impressive comeback in his last bout by nailing rookie Kieron Gray on point basis decision.
His opponent, Brian Rose, is Britain’s number two light middleweight pugilist and boasts 19 wins in a total 21 bouts. The 27-year-old will defend his country’s apex divisional title for the fourth consecutive time and is coming from a five-bout win streak
since his last loss to Max Maxwell.
Also known as ‘The Lion’, Rose grabbed the vacant title after nailing Lee Noble in a 10-round showdown via unanimous decision. Brian has nailed five opponents by knockout and in all the facets possesses an upper hand over surging Kris.
Despite the fact that Brian has more experience and a title round his waist which he has defended in his last three bouts successfully, Carslaw did not seem to get stressed rather vowed that he will surprise Rose during the bout.
Kris stated, “It’s something I’ve been working towards for a long time and now I can’t wait to get going. I feel I’ve got enough in me to win this fight. This is a great chance for me.”
Carslaw will definitely enter the ring to face one of the toughest men of his career but if he overcomes this obstacle in an impressive manner there will be no stoppage at all in his endeavour to secure top rank in the division.
