Krishnamachari Srikkanth happy with the team announced for the West Indian tour
The Chairman of selectors for Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Krishnamachari-Srikkanth-c71750, has backed the team named for the West Indian tour to do well.
There are some big names missing from the Indian squad including skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MS-Dhoni-c2028.
The announced squad includes: http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ishant-Sharma-c64566, Munaf Patel,
Vinay Kumar, Yusuf Pathan, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Amit-Mishra-c44030 and Wriddhiman Saha.
According to Srikkanth, “This is the best possible side. I am sure there is good balance in the team and I am confident that they will do well and maintain the winning momentum. Whoever wants to criticise the selection can do so but I am confident of the
team's success.”
The secretary of BCCI, N http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zaheer-Khan-c98451 have been rested. They will be available for the test series.”
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 for a complete series and then had to feature in the ICC World Cup 2011 after that, which they won.
The players were denied any rest, as they had to take part in the Indian Premier League (IPL) soon after the Mega Event. However, the board has decided to give an opportunity to some of the key players to spend time with their friends and family.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 will host one Twenty20, five One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Tests against India in June-July.
The Men in Blue will definitely enter the series as favourites in all three formats. They have enjoyed a spectacular time in the past year and a half and have earned the number one Test ranking in the world.
On the other hand, the Caribbean Kings have been struggling to find form in any format of the game.
They are currently hosting a series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 and have had some mixed performances. The major problem for the team has been the ongoing rift amongst some key players and the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB), which has kept out senior players from
the side.
