Krispy Kreme, yay or nay?

OK... the stores have just started opening up all over australia and i tried one.

Is it just me or are they totally overrated?? Looks like a donut, smells like a donut, tastes like a donut... pretty sure its just a donut?

Way overrated. I like Krispy Kreme however I think they live a horrendous film in your mouth when you are done so I don't eat them often. Also they are never as fresh as they claim. The only place to get them is a gas station around here. We have a bakery and I can get fresh donuts in the morning that were cooked like 3 hours ago!

Yeah.  I love them, especially the Chocolate Cake Glazed ones.  I call them "Devil's Food Donuts".  They just melt in your mouth.  Kinda expensive, but worth the price on occasion.

Yay. They are absolutely NOT overrated. Krispy Kremes are the best. One day while your out, by a glazed donut from DD or something and one from KK and you will see the great difference

I hate krispy Kreme. They taste like super sweet wax. Yuck. I'd much rather have Dunkin Donuts.

I say nay.

I think we in Australia have been spoiled with the abundance of fresh food, natural ingredients and wonderful flavored pastries over the years, so when this mass-produced donut came along, we weren't really all that impressed by them.

I found they didn't taste quite unlike other donuts, but there was just something missing, nothing that would justify all the hype anyway. Hopefully they will create a flavour for us Aussies that does make us a bit more impressed by them.

I have been told they are... orgasmic.

I remember trying hershey's chocolate for the first time, I actually spat it out.

They are "creamy" and supposed to melt in your mouth, but you are right they are just donuts, and unhealthy too! Eat them in moderation.

The donuts are overrated.  All the different types of donuts there taste the same to me.  No difference in taste or texture.  Very little variety.

NAY NAY NAY! It is ridiculously overrated. Shipley's donuts are SO much better. Especially if you go right when they come out of the oven 6:00am/12:00pm/7:00pm/12:00am. SOOOO GOOOOD! If your ever in Texas at any time in your life stop off at Shipleys and try their glaze donut and donut holes.

nay, I don't have any of the stores around me but they do sell their donuts in shops around here and they are too greasy for me.  Their cream filling is made from lard and sugar, someone that worked at the local short lived krispy kreme factory told me.

A big Nay. It actually hurt my teeth they were so sweet. Waaay over rated. Your local grocery store has to have something better to choose from. These were lard laden fat and sugar- sweetly gross.

Nay. I've tried them and they are overrated. I think it's just the name that makes people go there and not another place. I don't know, I just don't see anything special about a donut.

Their donuts are pretty good. But i like Dunkin Donuts the best
