Kristin Armstrong wins the Women’s Time Trial at the Amgen Tour of California 2012
Kristin Armstrong of Team Exergy Twenty 12 wins the women’s time trial event of the Amgen Tour of California 2012.
The 38-year-old has helped the team with yet another victory at the current season.
Armstrong has recently won two world championships, a gold medal and her supreme form was evident during the Thursday’s event.
She rode brilliantly during the 29.4 kilometre race and managed to finish the race under 40 minutes.
Kristin cited, "I'm trying to come out to every time trial this year and do my best, So right now I'm just training in hopes that I get selected on June 15 to go to the London games”.
“I really wanted to focus on my longer distance time trialing – we're used to racing about 20 minutes – so when you add another 20 minutes to it, it's a different story".
A total number of ten cyclists were chosen for the event and handsome prize money for all the participants was a big attraction for the riders.
Armstrong completed the race in a fastest time of 39 minutes and 59 seconds and occupied the top podium spot.
