  2. in our training it was mentioned in passing that Krugger Flap was invented or designed by Mr Krugger so the name was adapted as Krugger Flaps. So that was all the nice to know i can share.

  3. Krueger flaps are different from slats in that they "unfold" from the underside of the leading edge, whereas slats "droop" from the upper portion of the leading edge.

    The Boeing 727 and 747 possess Krueger flaps, as I recall.

  4. Not sure on the history but a Krueger Flap is a high lift device.

    Its used when the aircraft is at a lower speed. These as well as fixed slats and trailing edge flaps are also designed to do the same type of job.

    When a Krueger is extended the airflow under it will go over the upper camber keeping the boundary layer laminar.
