Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul is confident of success with the club and says that they will be one of the teams to watch out for in the coming Premier League season.
The 6ft 4in goalkeeper has also reassured Newcastle fans that he has no intention of leaving the club anytime soon and wants to be a full part of the Tyneside revolution. The Dutch shot stopper has been in impressive form ever since he became first choice
goalkeeper for the Magpies and continued his fine run in goal for the side through a series of solid performances.
Krul arrived at Tyneside as a teenager and has since been tipped to be a future Newcastle number 1. Even the player could not have foreseen that he’d make the cut so early in his career. His rise to the top should not come as a surprise, as he demonstrated
last season just what he is capable of.
The 24-year old Dutchman acquired the No. 1 jersey this summer from Steve Harper and has established himself as one of the Premier League’s top goalkeepers. His performances for Newcastle have also led to his selection in the Dutch national squad.
This had landed Krul on the radar of other clubs. The player has recently been the subject of interest from many of Europe’s elite clubs, but he had dismissed all talk as rubbish.
Krul thinks Newcastle are not far off from becoming a top force in Europe, especially considering the last 12 months the club has just had. The squad now boasts of quality and well established players such as Fabricio Coloccini, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jonas-c18967 Gutierrez
and up-and-coming talent such as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hatem-Ben-Arfa-c15884 and Tim Krul himself.
Speaking to the English press, Krul said:
“I have signed my long-term contract and what else can you do? You sign your contract and two weeks later there is speculation in the newspapers."
"But that is that. I love it at Newcastle, I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else and I’m looking forward to the season coming up.”
“I think we’re definitely going to be a team to watch again this season. Teams know what we’re about but that could be a good thing because we have players that they might fear. It is up to us."
