Newcastle United goalkeeper, Tim Krul revealed that it was like a dream come true for him to be named in the Holland’s provisional squad for the Euro 2012 competition, which will kick-off next month.
The 24-year old made his international senior level debut against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Netherlands-c753, he has remained a regular member of the national squad.
However, the Dutchman expressed his delight upon hearing the news of his selection in the provisional squad, and indicated that he was really looking forward towards the massive tournament.
The Dutch manager Bert van Marwijk announced the 27-man national crew for the Euro 2012 last Tuesday. Other goalkeepers in the squad include Roma’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michel-Vorm-c25482, who plays for Swansea City.

A delighted Krul told the club’s official website, “I always watched the European Championships on television when I was younger, so to go to it as part of the Holland squad - a massive nation like Holland - is a dream come true.”
The Newcastle shot stopper enjoyed a remarkable 2011/12 campaign with the Magpies. He kept 15 clean sheets in the entire season, to help the Tyneside team finish at the fifth place in the final league standings.
However, Krul mentioned that he was wary of the tough competition that he faces to earn a place in the starting eleven, but revealed that he was confident ahead of the ten-day national training session in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Switzerland-c3016.
He remarked, “I'm going into the squad with a lot of confidence, but I have two great goalies in front of me in Stekelenburg and Vorm so there's going to be some hard training sessions to prove that I'm worth being there.”
Stekelenburg is likely to start for Holland in the European Championship ahead of Krul and Vorm after getting the number one shirt. And even though the Newcastle player was aware of the fact that he could by watching the tournament from the sidelines, he
felt that being a part of the squad will boost his confidence before returning to Tyneside at the start of the new season.
