Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul is excited by the possible arrival of Dutch star http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 to undergo a medical with the Magpies and finalise his move to Tyneside.
Krul believes that his Dutch compatriot Vurnon Anita would be an important signing for the Magpies and hopes to see him arrive as early as possible.
Reports in Holland and England revealed yesterday that Newcastle had agreed a fee with Ajax over the player’s transfer, and now it was up to the player to travel to England, talk with manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-c4244 Pardew and make a decision on his future.
Anita had long been eager to switch to Newcastle United, and has been linked with the club ever since the summer transfer window opened. The player had himself stated his desire to move to Tyneside, but there had been problems with Ajax’s valuation and Newcastle’s
reluctance to meet it.
Now, with the deal agreed and almost near completion, Newcastle wait on the player’s arrival as they look to further strengthen their squad before Saturday’s crucial Premier League opener against Tottenham Hotspur.
Anita has been one of Newcastle's top targets, and his transfer is sure to please Pardew, who has so far hit a brick wall when it came to signing his high priority transfer targets.
Magpie goalkeeper Tim Krul is a big admirer of Anita and feels that he would be a big hit for them. Talking to the press, Krul said:
"Anita is definitely capable for the Premier League. I have already played with him back at Dutch U-15 and he is tough enough in the duels.”
"I understand Anita has to agree on personal terms. We surely can use a player who can be used in multiple positions."
The Dutch goalkeeper is currently away on national team duty with Holland as they prepare for their friendly game against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Belgium-c2850 this week. Krul is excited to be working under new coach Louis Van Gaal and hopes to be the first choice keeper for the team.
“It's always good to be confronted with new faces. Working with a well-known goalkeeping coach as Frank Hoek will be very special for me. That is a fantastic name.”
"We again start on zero. That counts for all the goalkeepers. I just have to show what I am capable of."
