Newcastle United goalkeeper, Tim Krul believes that the Magpies were unlucky not to pull out a result out of their crucial league game against Manchester City, despite competing with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Mancini’s side for the majority of the game.
The Toon succumbed to their second loss in their last nine league games, as they went down 2-0 against the Eastlanders at the Sports Direct Arena on Sunday. The City midfielder, Yaya Toure scored late two goals to help his side maintain their position at
the summit of the league table, with just one more game to play.
On the other hand the defeat was a setback for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 on 13th, and hope that their top-four rivals drop points in their respective games, in order to secure a place in the Champions
League competition next season.
Even though the Netherland International acknowledged the quality of the goals scored by Toure during the game, he opined that that the Magpies were a victim of bad fortune, as they had put City under pressure right from the start of the game.
He told the club’s official website, “We are disappointed about today because we had a few opportunities, but it just didn't go our way… It's just a shame we couldn't get the goal, but they've got a fantastic defence.”
Nevertheless, the 24-year old admitted that City displayed more quality up front then his side, but felt that things could have been much different had the Magpies converted from their chances.
“Going forward they just had a little bit of quality and luck on their side - it was a great finish from Yaya Toure for the first goal.” He added.
However, Krul insisted that Newcastle have enjoyed a remarkable season on the whole, and was all praise for the club’s fans for standing behind their team in the entire season.
“We've had a tremendous season, as shown by the fans all staying in their seats after the game to give us their respect, and it gave us the chance to thank them too for their fantastic support.”
