Andrey Kobelev admires Nenad Dordevic’s Russian Premier League performances and revealed Dmitry Verkhovtsov’s transfer from Naftan Novopolotsk.
FC Krylia Sovetov Samara head coach, Andrey Kobelev, has heaped praised on the Perya defender, Nenad Dordevic, and identified him as one of the best Russian Premier League’s talents.
Kobelev joined the Perya during the last transfer window, after the shock resignation of then-manager Alexander Tarkhanov, and signed a three-year contract with the Russian outfit.
The Perya were in deep crisis when he joined, but he has managed to pull the Russian outfit out of the drop zone ever since.
Sovetov Samara are currently at the thirteenth spot on the league table, ten points clear of the bottom spot.
While the Russian outfit has had a bad second league round, they have still managed to turn the tables around in the last five outings. The manager is proud of their performances and has identified Dordevic as the reason behind their good defensive record; the Feathers have conceded only six goals in eight league appearances.
Kobelev praised his team’s defence and highlighted the hard work behind the achievement.
“First of all I want to say thank Dordevic for what he did at Metallurg Stadion, Samara. I do not have the slightest doubt to name him as a pillar in our teams defence. It’s because of his professional and personal qualities.
“But, as I have said many times during the championship, we need more tall footballers in central area. It’s because we are constantly losing the aerial battles in that area.” the former Dynamo Moscow coach was quoted as saying.
The Russian tactician revealed that Sovetov Samara have now ended their pursuit of signing a tall defender and gave the example of Dmitry Verkhovtsov. The Belarusian footballer joined the Russian outfit from Naftan Novopolotsk during the winter transfer window.
Speaking on the acquisition of the 6 foot 3 inches defender, Kobelev said: “We managed to sign an experienced and highly paid footballer in him.”
Kobelev expects a good third league round and assured the fans of further hard work and more dedication.
