  1. displacment is the hypothenuse of the distance of 200 and 60m, so use pythagoras theorem.

    displacement = sqrt (60^2+200^2) = 208m northwest


  2. Another clue: Pythagoras discovered (or copied from some Egyptian scholars) that a^2+b^2=c^2.

    Also note that the tangens of the angle is the ratio 200/60
