Kuala Lumpur Hockey Club defeats Armed Forces Airod 9-3 in Malaysian Hockey League
Defending double Champions and current leaders at the points chart, Kuala Lumpur Hockey Club (KLHC) earned another victory with a heavy margin in the Malaysian Hockey League (MHL) as they clobbered Armed Forces Airod 9-3 in the round-match of the Premier
Division at National Hockey Stadium in Bukit Jalil on September 30.
With another high-profile victory, they have succeeded in obtaining a spot in the quarter-finals round of the league. They also climbed another peak, as they scored twenty nine times in five games. It was a completely single-handed game where only Kuala
Lumpur Hockey Club dominated the ball for most of the time. Though the team of Armed Forces scored three times in the seventy-minutes of play, it could not put the rivals under pressure on any occasion.
In the first quarter of the match, the strikers from KLHC ruined the defensive line of Armed Forces and slammed seven unanswered goals in the just 24 minutes. After marking seven notches, they started a peaceful game with no worries that permitted players
of Armed Forces to score goals.
Tengku Ahmad Tajuddin, the seasoned player from KLHC once again showed his real worth and marked four goals in the game. His team-mates Ahmad Kazamirul Nasruddin, Chua Boon Huat, Ahmad Annuar Sham, Harvinder Singh and Kelvinder Singh accounted for one goal
apiece in the match and played a significant role in the large margin of victory.
First goal was scored in the third minute at the hands of Nasruddin through a short corner while second and fourth were achieved by Tajuddin in the fifth and ninth minutes. Huat earned the third in the seventh minute through a tremendous field effort. Kelvinder
earned the fifth score in the 11th minute while Kamal did it in the 16th minute of the game. Tajuddin added another two goals in the 24th and 29th to take the score to eight goals. The last goal was scored in the
second half of play.
From the other side, Razali Mohd Hazemi, Mohd Zulfadli Raseley and Mohd Amrul Shahran scored one goal apiece and showed their presence on the field. However, Armed Forces lost to the brilliant performance by KLHC 9-3.
