Kuban Krasnodar need to gear up for Russian Premier League’s third round, warns
Suren Mkrtchyan
Kuban Krasnodar general director, Suren Mkrtchyan, has warned the Russian outfit to gear up for the third round of Russian Premier League if they are to claim a decent spot on the league table.
According to the new calendar set by the Russian Football Union, all the Russian clubs are set to play the third round in the domestic league for the first time. The decision was made by the RFU officials in a bid to improve the
levels of Russian football.
Petrescu, who promoted the Lifters from the Russian First Division last year, managed to lead the Russian outfit with an impressive record against top clubs. They managed to claim five points against the top-three league clubs:
Zenit St. Petersburg, CSKA Moscow and Dynamo Moscow.
Mkrtchyan admitted that Romanian manager has transformed the Russian outfit into a much stronger team as compared to last season and admitted that the former Wisla Krakow manager has done a fantastic http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 bringing in Lacina Traore
from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/CFR-Cluj-c38778.
The Ivorian striker has bagged 14 goals this season already and much is expected from the prolific striker in the third round.
“We have Petrescu and Traore and we have no desire to sell our manager or any player. I have an excellent relationship with the coach and at this stage of the season we all need to stick together.” Mkrtchyan was quoted as saying.
Speaking on a tough schedule of league games ahead, the director general urged his team to work harder, assuring the fans of improved results when they play against Spartak Moscow in the upcoming league tie.
The general director went on to admit that every player has a certain value and admitted that Kuban would sell any player who is surplus to their requirements.
“Under certain conditions, you can sell any player. We live in a free world and if the player wishes to move to another club, he can do it, but you need to get a good offer. Let me stress again that we have no desire and intention
to sell the players.”
Kuban are currently at the sixth spot on the league table and trail the UEFA Champions League spot by six points.
