Dan Petrescu admitted that his side deserved to get more out of the Russian Premier League draw against CSKA Moscow and commented on Lacina Traore’s performance
In the latest round of Russian Premier League action, Kuban Krasnodar failed to breach CSKA Moscow’s defence after recording a 0-0 draw at Kuban Stadion. The home team managed to claim a valuable point against the Moscow-based
club, who are challenging for UEFA Champions League spot this season.
Though, the latest draw has not affected Kuban’s position in the league, they failed to climb up the league table. With just one league game remaining until the end of the season, the Yellow-greens are at the 8th spot and trail
their closest rivals by five points.
In aftermath of the outcome, Dan Petrescu has hailed his team’s commitment, and admitted that the Cossacks deserved more out of the game. The Romanian tactician admitted that Kuban have once again proved that they belong to the
top-eight teams in the Russian top division.
The fact that the Armeytsy have failed to win a single match against Kuban in a league competition pleases Petrescu, who believes that his side has all the attributes to shock bigger Russian clubs.
“We have played four games with CSKA Moscow and claimed four draws. My boys have once again proved that there are well-deserved in the first eight. We have been consistent, we can neither rise nor fall, but we need to improve.
We were confident ahead of the game and our task was to show the character.
“Games against CSKA are always difficult. We could have win after giving a lot of effort and proved to everybody that we are in the first eight on the right.” The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 defender was quoted as saying.
Petrescu went on to admit that he made a game plan to stop CSKA players: Zoran Tosic and Ahmed Musa respectively. He credited Kuban’s defenders for stopping the aforementioned players, and admitted that the Cossacks were the better
team on the pitch.
Commenting on Lacina Traore’s performances during the third league round, Petrescu admitted that the Ivorian striker has failed to find his form during the round.
