Igor Armas believes that Kuban Krasnodar’s latest win over Volga Novgorod is a proof that the Russian outfit are doing fine without Lacina Traore and Dan Petrescu
In the latest round of Russian Premier League action, Kuban Krasnodar recorded an emphatic 6-2 win over their counterparts, Volga Niznhy Novgorod at Stadion Kuban (Krasnodar) on Monday.
Three goals in each half secured a memorable win for the Cossacks, who have now climbed up to the 8th spot on the league table. Kuban, on the other hand, conceded two second-half goals including one from the penalty
spot.
In aftermath of the outcome, Igor Armas has hailed his side’s latest win against the Volgari, insisting that they are not struggling to achieve good results without the departed pair: Lacina Traore and Dan Petrescu.
Lacina Traore, who was Kuban’s top-scorer last term, left the Krasnodar-based club in search of greener pastures at Anzhi Makhachkala. The mega rich Dagestani club reportedly paid a fee of 17 million Euros for the Ivorian striker.
Petrescu, who left Kuban to coach Dynamo Moscow after Sergei Silkin’s departure, brought the 22-year-old forward to the Russian championship after Traore had impressed in Liga 1 at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/CFR-Cluj-c38778.
The Romanian tactician’s move for Traore turned out to be fruitful after the Ivorian International doubled his value in less than one year.
The Yellow-greens have now signed Yuri Krasnozhan after Petrescu’s shocking departure. The Russian national http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/U-17-Youth-team-c40787 manager has signed a two-year contract with the Russian outfit.
“Today, we wanted to prove that Kuban is not all about Traore and Petrescu. And we proved it. I think we can achieve great results under Krasnozhan as well.”
“I hope that this game will be a foundation for our successful performance in the near future. An early goal in the first seconds gave us confidence and we played more attacking football.” The Moldovan footballer was quoted as
saying.
The fact that Kuban recorded their first win under Krasnozhan delights Armas, who has urged his side to extend decent league run if they are to claim a decent spot at the end of the season.
