Kumar Sangakkara Steps Down from Captaincy – Will Remain Test Captain Temporarily
Kumar Sangakkara, one of the best captains to emerge in the recent ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 will no longer be leading the Sri Lankan side. Abdicating his position as captain of the One Day Internationals and Twenty 20 teams, he has offered to remain captain of the Test side only so far as to assist the new captain.
Tillakaratne Dilshan and Angelo Mathews are the top candidates for leading the limited-over sides, while Thilan Samaraweera is being considered for Test captaincy.
