Former Sri Lanka captains Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene are reportedly looking for an early exit from the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) in order to prepare themselves for their upcoming http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 tour of England. The move comes after the
newly appointed Sri Lanka skipper, Tillakaratne Dishpan, also reportedly expressed that he wanted to go back from the cash-rich tournament early in order to prepare for the tour. The England Test series will be starting May 26, 2011.
Currently Sangakkara is leading the Deccan Chargers in the IPL, whereas Jayawardene is in-charge of the new expansion team, Kochi Tuskers http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kerala-c803.
According to one of the leading newspapers of Sri Lanka, both players will be flying to Colombo by May 16. A day later, they will head to Derby for their first warm-up match against England on May 19. Sources have also confirmed that both IPL franchises
have permitted the Lankan players to take an early exit from the ongoing Indian Premier League.
The recently appointed Sri Lankan captain will be joining his team on May 10, to play against the Poms. According to reports, Sri Lanka Cricket has allowed seven players from the 16-men squad to head to England before May 19 for their second warm-up match
against England. Initially, they asked their players to arrive in England on May 5 for practice.
Mahela Jayawardene is one of the finest batsmen of the Sri Lankan cricket team and he has played a total of 341 One Dayers, in which he has scored 9423 runs at an average of 33.06. He has so far struck 14 hundreds and 56 half centuries. In his 341 ODIs,
Jayawardene has scored 808 fours and 55 sixes.
Former Sri Lankan captain and wicketkeeper batsman Kumar Sangakkara has played 291 One Day Internationals. In his 291 ODIs, he has scored a total of 9164 runs at an average of 38.02. Sangakkara became the captain of the team for two years. However he took
