Having played a match-winning knock in a group A fixture of the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/KC-Sangakkara-c1779, the former Sri Lankan skipper, is delighted with his efforts and wants his side to continue with the same momentum in
their last match against Australia.
After losing their opening match of the all-important tournament against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Lions-c808 had to win their second match to remain in contention to qualify for the semi-finals of the event.
Chasing a massive target of 294 runs, Sangakkara played the role of an anchor and scored a brilliant 134 not out off just 135 balls, in which he struck a dozen boundaries, helping his team achieve the target for the loss of just three wickets and 17 balls
to spare.
The former skipper was named as the Player of the Match for his outstanding knock. While expressing his views in the post-match presentation ceremony, the wicketkeeper/batsman admitted that the top-order had to be a little careful against the new ball. The
left-hander also praised the efforts of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/KMDN-Kulasekara-c1802.  
“I was pretty happy about it, we had to play well at the start, see off http://www.senore.com/Cricket/JM-Anderson-c1705 Anderson but Mahela played really well and we got on top of it. [Kulasekara's innings] took the pressure off and those two overs, off Swann and Broad, were decisive,” he said.
Kulasekara was sent to bat higher up the batting order at number five and he justified his promotion by smashing an unbeaten 58 off merely 38 balls, helping his team chase down the total with relative ease.
Sangakkara wants his side to be at the top of their game against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 on Monday at the same venue.
 “That's the Champions Trophy for you, the pressure is on, players aspire to play in it. I'm pleased to have done well today,” the great batsman added. “We've got to win another one, the Aussies are a tough outfit so we'll have to prepare well.”
With just one match left for each team, all four teams of group A have a chance to make to the semis.
