http://www.senore.com/Cricket/KC-Sangakkara-c1779, Deccan Chargers’ skipper, is frustrated with his team’s performance in the fifth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and admitted that fielding let his team down.
The Chargers finished at number eight on the points table with merely nine points after 16 games. Only Pune http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757
in 2009.
Deccan had the services of a number of quality cricketers like Sangakkara, Cameron White, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/S-Dhawan-c2392. However, apart from
White and Dhawan, no one else could make a huge impression in the fifth season.
The former Sri Lankan captain, who is usually a cool character, admitted that it was frustrating for him to see the franchise perform as it did. Sangakkara expressed that poor fielding proved to be quite expensive for his team as the Chargers dropped a number
of crucial catches this year.
Sangakkara expressed, "This edition of the IPL has been tough for the franchise and the team. There have been some close games and it has been a bit frustrating for us to lose those tight finishes. We missed Ishant who was out with injury and we were let
down in our fielding."
While talking about his priority when it comes to the three formats of the game, the wicketkeeper/batsman has no doubts in his mind that Test cricket should always remain the pinnacle for every budding cricketer. Although, he loves to play in every version
of the sport and further added that he will not quit the game as long as he is enjoying it.
"Every cricketer wants to play Test cricket though I feel that every form of the game is great. You never know how these things work, I could just finish tomorrow. It all depends on the performance," he added.
