Kumarakom is a backwater place with boating.

So, more the water the better,and in august,there's lots of water.

kovalam is mainly about the beach, and kerala beaches are dangerous in august during rainy season,I know coz even if i can swim and i've lived in kerala all these years,i dont go to beach in rainyseason

Hence i suggest kumarakom
