Kumpoo Macau Open: Belaetrix Manuputi trounces Jing Yi Tee in Women’s Singles first round
Indonesia’s Belaetrix Manuputi started her run in Women’s Singles category in a perfect fashion as she did not face any trouble in winning the first round battle against Malaysia’s Jing Yi Tee at the Kumpoo Macau Open Badminton GP Gold 2012 on Wednesday,
November 28, in Macau.
The in-form Manuputi, who is un-seeded player in the main draw of Macau Open, displayed her staggering skills in the arena and gave a severe lesson to her Malaysian challenger while consuming just 27 minutes.
Indonesian lady entered into the court with a wonderful confidence as she played with remarkable speed and easily secured a comprehensive victory by finishing up the match in straight games with a comfortable margin.
In the meanwhile, Jing Yi tried her best to prove her mettle in the arena but she failed to live up to expectations and eventually failed to escape defeat from the hands of her Indonesian challenger in a one-sided manner.
From the starting points of first set, the in-form Manuputi played with excellent control in her shots and managed to take over the affairs quite easily.
The tempo of the rallies was quite fast in first set and Manuputi impressed local crowd with her lofty skills.
Indonesian shutter proceeded with a stunning speed in the first half and stayed in lead on the board until the break.
After the break, the battle progressed at the same speed as Manuputi did not lose her control in the game and managed to stay in lead.
Manuputi was very calm and composed on court as she did not take pressure and won the first game with a staggering difference of 21-14.
The aggressive Jing Yi tried her best to play tricky badminton in the starting part of second set but could not create pressure on her opponent.
Manuputi displayed her incredible skills on court by picking the bird timely from all corners and kept her upper hand over her opponent.
The positive play of Manuputi in the concluding half assisted her to claim the set with a comfortable 21-13 score on the board.
Indonesian shuttler emerged as victorious in this Women’s Singles first round as she easily defeated Jing Yi in two games with a crushing margin of 21-14 and 21-13.
