Kumpoo Macau Open: Busanan Ongbumrungpan beats Belaetrix Manuputi in Women’s Singles round-of-16
Thailand’s experienced player Busanan Ongbumrungpan showed her elevated skills in Women’s Singles round-of-16 by defeating Indonesia’s Belaetrix Manuputi at the Kumpoo Macau Open Badminton Grand Prix Gold 2012 on Thursday, November 29, in Macau.
The impressive Busanan, who is the seventh seeded player in the main draw of Women’s Singles category, displayed a spectacular show of top class badminton and remained successful in beating her lower ranked Indonesian challenger in 36 minutes.
Thai shuttler had to dig into her arsenal in the opening game and managed to win it in a narrow manner. However, she found a superb flow and crushed her rival in second set to claim victory in straight sets.
In the meanwhile, the un-seeded Belaetrix could not stretch her winning run in the arena as she failed to elevate her play when it mattered most and eventually knelt down against Busanan without winning any set.
Busanan showed a wonderful aggression on court from the starting points of first game by building a huge pressure on her challenger.
The in-form Thai lady showed that she has got top class skills in the arena and remained successful in taking a strong position in the arena.
Until the end of starting half of first set, the in-form Busanan achieved a strong position on score board by establishing a reasonable lead.
After the one-minute break, Busanan was focused on court and remained successful in keeping a reasonable difference.
Busanan was quite calm and composed in the arena as she did not take pressure and won the opening game with a dramatically close margin of 24-22.
Busanan did not lose her superiority at any stage in the starting half of second set as she played with confidence and precision.
Until the end of first half, the seventh seeded Busanan remained consistent in playing with command and variations and stayed ahead.
Busanan continued putting up reasonable show in the ending half of second game and remained successful in winning the set with a reasonable 21-8 total on the board.
Thai lady showed her supremacy in the arena as she remained successful in winning the pre-quarter-final battle in straight sets with a reasonable score of 24-22 and 21-8.
