Kumpoo Macau Open: Busanan Ongbumrungpan tames Pui Yin Yip in Women’s Singles quarter-final
Thailand’s elite player Busanan Ongbumrungpan showed a staggering performance in the arena and reached into Women’s Singles semi-final after beating Hong Kong’s Pui Yin Yip in quarter-final battle at the Kumpoo Macau Open Badminton GP Gold 2012 in Macau,
on Friday, November 30.
The seventh seeded Busanan, who was seventh seeded player in the main draw, put up superb show of top class badminton and overpowered the fourth seeded Pui Yin while consuming just 38 minutes in the arena.
Thai shuttler played with incredible speed and showed a wonderful aggression which helped to stay in lead and she managed to win the battle in straight games with a crushing margin on the score board.
On the other hand, the higher ranked Hong Kong shuttler failed to show her worth on court as she failed to find a good flow all the way against her Thai rival and eventually went down without creating a strong impact.
In the opening set, the lower ranked Busanan showed a wonderful display of her skills and managed to set up a wonderful lead without facing any trouble from her Hong Kong challenger.
Busanan showed that she has obtained highest class skills in the arena and remained successful in getting a strong position in the arena.
It was Busanan who did not show any mercy to her aggressive opponent in the starting half and established a tremendous lead on score board.
After the one-minute interval, Busanan was focused in the arena and remained successful in maintaining a sound difference.
The in-form Busanan was very calm and composed in the arena as she did not take pressure and finished up the first game with a sound margin of 21-12.
In the following set, Thai shuttler did not lose her focus at any stage in the first part of second game as she played with confidence and aggression.
Busanan impressed the crowd with her unmatched craft that helped her to keep pressure on her rival who could not produce good form.
In the second part of second game, the impressive Busanan continued her comfortable run and easily grabbed the game with a big score of 21-18.
Thai lady remained successful in proving her mettle in quarter-final clash in straight sets with a dominating 21-12 and 21-18 score on the board.
