China’s in-form shuttler Huan Gao showed an amazing performance and ended up the winning streak of India’s Srikanth K. by beating him in Men’s Singles semi-final at the Kumpoo Macau Open Badminton Grand Prix Gold 2012 on Saturday, December 1, in Macau.
The impressive Chinese shuttler, who remained unbeaten throughout the tournament, continued his staggering run in the main draw and secured his place in the final after showing exit to Srikanth in just 39 minutes.
Huan found a perfect start in the opening set of the match and remained successful in winning it easily. However, he had to work really hard in the second game but he managed to win it and ended up the match in straight games with a reasonable margin.
On the other hand, the lofty Srikanth failed to stay focused in the arena as he could not put up strong show and also failed to maintain his rhythm. He lost this semi-final battle without taking away any set from his Chinese rival.
Huan showed a wonderful aggression on court from the starting points of first game by creating a remarkable pressure on his opponent.
Huan showed that he has got top quality skills on court and remained successful in getting a strong position in the arena.
Huan did not show any sign of confusion as he remained in complete command of the pace until the one-minute break.
After the mid-game interval, the lofty Huan stayed focused in the arena and remained successful in maintaining a comfortable gap.
Huan continued employing powerful shots in targeted areas and eventually bagged the opening game with a stunning difference of 21-8.
In the second game, Indian shuttler accelerated his speed and played better badminton which helped him to stay close to his Chinese rival until the end of opening half.
After the break, Srikanth failed to put up strong show as Huan played positive badminton and clinched the game with a close margin of 21-19.
Chinese shuttler took just 39 minutes to stamp his mark over Srikanth in straight sets with a crushing 21-8 and 21-19 score on the board.
