Kumpoo Macau Open: R. M. V. Gurusaidutt beats Yan Kit Chan in Men’s Singles quarter-final clash
India’s lofty player R. M. V. Gurusaidutt showed a staggering performance on court and secured his berth in Men’s Singles semi-final after crushing Hong Kong’s Yan Kit Chan in quarter-final encounter at Kumpoo Macau Open Badminton GP Gold 2012 on Friday,
November 30, in Macau.
The higher ranked Gurusaidutt, who is the 12th seeded player in Men’s Singles main draw in the tournament, played in a superb fashion as he did not lose his focus at any stage and easily thrashed Yan Kit in just 34 minutes.
Indian shuttler was on a different level as he controlled and dictated the pace of rallies from all areas of the court and remained successful in showing exit to his Hong Kong challenger in straight games with a completely one-sided margin.
In contrast, Yan Kit tried his level best to produce better form but he failed to put up strong resistance against the power play of his challenger and eventually lost the quarter-final clash in a lopsided fashion.
Gurusaidutt performed extremely well from the opening rallies of first set as he played with spectacular speed and grabbed the control of the game.
The top class skills and impressive speed assisted Gurusaidutt to put his opponent in all sorts of problem and he remained dominant in the arena.
Indian shuttler did not show any confusion as he remained in complete control of rallies until the end of first half.
After the mid-game interval, the incredible Gurusaidutt was focused in the arena and remained successful in keeping a reasonable lead.
Gurusaidutt remained consistent in hitting powerful shots in targeted areas and eventually took the first game with a superb total of 21-11.
Yan Kit was once again in problem in the second game as he received a cruel treatment from his rival who was aggressive in the arena.
Until the end of first part, the lofty Gurusaidutt remained consistent in playing with command and variations and stayed ahead on the board.
The planned and positive play in the concluding part of second set assisted Gurusaidutt to claim the set with a superb 21-14 score on the board.
Gurusaidutt emerged as victorious against Yan Kit in this Men’s Singles quarter-final battle with a stunning difference of 21-11 and 21-14.
