Kumpoo Macau Open: Tai Tzu Ying beats Maria Febe Kusumastuti in Women’s Singles first round
The in-form Chinese Taipei’s shuttler Tai Tzu Ying showed an expected performance and eased into Women’s Singles second round after showing exit to Indonesia’s Maria Febe Kusumastuti in first round at Kumpoo Macau Open Badminton GP Gold 2012 in Macau, on
Wednesday, November 28.
The World Number 11 Tzu Ying, who is the top seeded shuttler in Women’s Singles main draw in the tournament, displayed her elevated craft in the arena and remained successful in beating her lower ranked challenger in an inspiring fashion.
Taipei lady worked really hard in the opening set and won it with a close margin. However, she found a good flow in the second set and easily bagged it to seal off a convincing victory in straight sets by taking just 33 minutes on the board.
Maria Febe, on the other hand, gave a wonderful fight to her top seeded rival in the opening game but she failed to maintain her focus and speed in the arena and lost the match in straight games with a reasonable difference on the board.
In the opening set, the in-form Tzu Ying displayed a phenomenal show of flawless badminton on court as she executed shots with remarkable shots in gaps from opening points.
The impressive Tzu Ying proved that she has achieved top class skills by playing with tremendous precision and got a strong domination in the arena.
Until the one-minute break, the aggressive Tzu Ying stayed in complete command of rallies and took a reasonable lead on score board.
After the mid-game interval, the lower ranked Maria Febe tried to play attacking badminton but could not shake the confidence of her rival who stayed fully focuses.
Tzu Ying was very calm and composed on court as she did lose her temperament and remained successful in winning the opening game with a close 21-19 score on the board.
In the second set, the top seeded Tzu Ying played in the similar aggressive fashion from the opening points and remained successful in building a wonderful lead until the break.
After the interval, Tzu Ying remained composed and positive in the arena and took the second set with a comfortable difference of 21-13.
Tzu Ying easily won this Women’s Singles first round match in 33 minutes with a 21-19 and 21-13 margin on the score board.
