Kevin Kuranyi believes that Dynamo Moscow still have a chance to qualify for the UEFA Europa League spot this season and has rubbished exit rumours
Dynamo Moscow striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kevin-Kuranyi-c20736, has backed his side to secure UEFA Europa League spot this season after highlighting CSKA Moscow and Zenit St. Petersburg to qualify for the top two places.
As things stand, the Louders are at the seventh spot on the league table and trailing the league leaders by 17 points with only four league meetings remaining until the end of the ongoing campaign.
There is little arguing to the statement that the Moscow-based club have been struggling to find form since partying company with Sergei Silkin.
The White-blues appointed Dan Petrescu, who took the managerial charge after leaving Kuban Krasnodar, after sacking their last coach at the end of the last season courtesy to the Russian outfits below par finish on the league
table.
“Under the direction of Petrescu we have made incredible progress. I am confident that we will secure European spot.”
“I think Zenit St. Petersburg and CSKA will fight for the top places." The former Schalke man was quoted as saying.
Kuranyi urged his teammates to claim maximum points in the remaining matches of the campaign after showing consistency in their performances.
“Unfortunately, we are not showing a very good game despite making several changes in the squad. Of course, everyone likes it when we play beautiful football. But now the most important thing is to score points.” He added
Reports in Russian media, earlier this week, suggested that Kuranyi will leave the Moscow-based club at the end of the season should they fail to qualify for the UEFA Champions League this season.
According to sources, the German International is getting overwhelming response from a host of top European clubs and will leave the Russian Premier League club this summer. Kuranyi has scored 10 goals in 24 league appearances
so far this season.
However, the 31-year-old ended the speculations after insisting that he is happy at Arena Khimki and assured the fans of helping the club in claiming a decent finish.
