Kurban Berdyev admits Rubin Kazan deserved to draw against PAOL in the UEFA Europa League
Rubin Kazan managed to get a 2-2 draw against Panthessaloníkios Athlitikós Ómilos Konstantinoupolitón (PAOK) in the latest round of UEFA Europa League group stage matches.
The Rubies have been drawn against Shamrock Rovers, PAOK and Tottenham Hotspurs in the group stages of the cup tournament.
With just two matches played, Rubin are atop their group table, having won 3-0 against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 in the opening day of the European League.
The Tatary head coach, Kurban Berdyev, has expressed his satisfaction over the draw and highlighted the performance of his team. The Russian tactician revealed that the Volzhane managed to get in front in the second period but failed to cope up with the
counter-attacking Dikefalos.
Having conceded the opening goal of the match, Rubin were pressurised by the opposition at home. Rubin managed to score two goals in the second period but failed to hold onto their lead for long as they concede an equalizer from the Greek club late in the
game.
“Unfortunately, we conceded both goals from two counter-attacks. We knew about it, but failed to deny their offensive weapon. PAOK are a high-quality team, they used the trump card.” The manager said.
“We created a lot of chances but failed to score. Sometimes we do not always achieve the desired results. There were errors from our side, because it is not always possible to maintain the quality of the game. It was an important game but certainly not decisive. There
are still four games left, and we know we can do better.” The former FC Kairat head coach concluded.
Berdyev went on to deny the fact that Rubin failed to execute the game plan and the players were too relaxed before the meeting.
