Kurt Angle believes Dave Batista would be a great UFC fighter – UFC Special
Many wrestlers have made their transitions from wrestling to MMA and from MMA to wrestling. Unfortunately, most of them have not done well with the exception of Brock Lesnar, who has tasted success in the UFC as well in the WWE. Now, it is Dave Batista,
former WWE superstar, entering the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
Batista made his debut against Vince Lucero at the Dunkin Donuts Center in Providence, R.I. Regardless of the results of the fight, some former associates of the ‘Animal’ believe Batista has what it takes to be a great MMA fighter.
Among all, it is former WWE superstar Kurt Angle who believes Batista can shine as a UFC fighter. Angle has previously spoken of his will to be a MMA fighter and now he is actively commenting on the ones making the transition.
In his recent interview earlier this month, Angle came up saying that Batista is a strong guy with a frame that can dominate others.
“But I think Bautista is a special talent. I think he’s a very tough guy, I think he’s going to do very well in MMA. He wasn’t an amateur wrestler like most pro wrestlers that cross over usually were amateurs wrestlers like Brock Lesnar or Bobby Lashley.
But, Bautista will do really well. He’s a tough kid, he’s got a great knockout punch. I know that for sure because I was up in WWE and I’ve seen him have a couple of fights,” said Angle in an interview with MMA Uncensored.
Not just Batista, Angle is also fond of Brock Lesnar’s capabilities. The former WWE superstar has faced Angle quite a lot of times during his stay at WWE. Angle claims that Lesnar is ‘one of the baddest’ guy on the planet.
“He had the strength, the quickness, the finesse. you don’t have a guy that size that can do the things he did,” said Angle while talking about Batista.
Finally, Angle was once again asked if he would join MMA. According to the Olympian, he is already 43 and it is tough for him to make a transition now. Angle is currently a professional wrestler at TNA, where he has had more success than at WWE.
