  1. ha that was funny angle almost got subbed csnt wait for his match with randy

  2. wish we coulda heard what angle was saying puder

  3. Um....this is WWE.  Of course it's fake.  If it was real the ref counting to 3 wouldn't end the fight - a submission, KO, etc. would end it.

What did Angle do?  He layed on Puder for 6 seconds!  They were really grappling for a minute, but there were no strikes despite the fact that both had multiple opportunities.  And the kimura was in good - Angle has no defense.

  4. Yeah.  Puder slapped that thing on pretty well.  In pro wrestling, they take actual submission holds and slightly change the angles in order to make them ineffective.  Puder's kimura has the, more or less, proper angles.  Angle is lucky the ref saved him, honestly.

What a weird gimmick for pro wrestling to play.

  5. It was supposed to be fake, but Daniel Puder put a real sub on Angle in an attempt to embarass him on national TV - which is why Angle was so irate at the end.

  6. The two relevant terms in the business of pro wrestling are "work" and "shoot".  A "work" is when something is pre-planned, as is normally the case.  A "shoot" is when it turns into a real fight.

I read about this incident.  For whatever reason, Puder challenged Angle, and applied an actual Kimura, later claiming he would have snapped Angle's arm if not for the referee.  So that part was a "shoot"so yes it was real.  While Puder was not fired after the incident, he was subsequently buried by WWE management and quit soon afterwards.

Angle had every right to be pissed off.

Personally I think it was a cheap attempt by Puder to make a name for himself.  You want to be in the Sports Entertainment business, you're supposed supposed to take care of your "opponent" because he's got a familiy to feed too.  You want to be in the Combat Sports business, go do that instead, don't bushwack a guy who's not expecting it.
