Kuwait v Maldives – Asian Cricket Council Trophy Elite 2012 (7th place play-off) – Match Update
Kuwait secured 7th place in the ongoing Asian Cricket Council Trophy Elite 2012 by claiming a 7-wicket win over Maldives in their 7th place play-off, at the Nursery Oval in Abu Dhabi on October 10.
Kuwait won the toss and chose to field first after a delayed start which saw the match shortened to 35 overs per side. Kuwait launched a bowing attack led by Abdullah Akhunzada (7-0-30-3), Sibtain Raza (7-1-18-2), Hisham Mirza (7-0-33-2), and Kashif http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sharif-c89762
(6-0-41-1), all of whom ensured that Maldives were kept down to 167 by the end of 35 overs.
Openers Shafraz Jaleel (21) and Mohamed Rishwan (32) got the team off to a good start with a 63-run stand, but their performances remained unsupported by skipper Moosa Kaleem (2) and Abdullah Shahid (9), both of whom contributed paltry scores. Jaleel was
