http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dirk-Kuyt-c11348 voiced his support in favour of Brendan Rodgers’ appointment as the new Liverpool manager and revealed that his decision to part ways with the Merseyside club had nothing to do with the arrival of the Irishman.
The Holland International, who already faced an uncertain future at Anfield, announced a couple of days ago his decision to join the Turkish outfit Fenerbahce on a three-year contract-bringing an end to his six year term with Liverpool.
However, with Rodgers finally filling the vacant managerial seat at Anfield following Kenny Dalglish’s departure almost three weeks ago, the 31-year old was glad to see the owners finally announce the new gaffer, and believed that he was the right man to
pull the Reds out of their current slum.
He told the club’s official website, “From what I have heard from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michel-Vorm-c25482, who is with me in the national team, he is a great manager and he told me he will be perfect for Liverpool and he will definitely lift the club up to a higher state.”
Earlier under Dalglish’ management, Kuyt had made public his trepidation over being overlooked in the Reds starting eleven frequently and his willingness to leave the Merseyside club for a better future. After turning down offers from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Feyenoord-c39258 and some
German clubs, his decision to join Fenerbahce came precisely at the same time when Rodgers was handed over the reins of Liverpool.
However, the Dutchman dismissed the link between the two developments, explaining that he was already looking for a new assignment over the last couple of months and was waiting for the right offer and opportunity.
He said, “My decision to leave Liverpool was nothing to do with the new manager coming in whatsoever... I made the decision but it's not about the new manager.”
Liverpool underwent a sweltering 2011/12 league campaign, compiling their worst point tally since 1954 and finished the table at eight spot; their lowest in 18 years.
Even though the Dutchman admitted his side’s shortcomings in the previous season, he was of the opinion that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 and carried no doubt that the players will be desperate to work alongside the new manage in order
to change the state of affairs at the club.
He added, “I'm sure Liverpool will improve under the new manager. Liverpool has a great squad of players and I'm sure with this manager they will do well.”
He went on to felicitate Rodgers on getting the prestigious Liverpool http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 and mentioned that the club will always remain in his heart.
