He told the club’s official website, “It is a very special club. It was a privilege for me to play for Liverpool. I will always look back at those six years with a big smile on my face.”
Kuyt arrived at Anfield from the Dutch side Feyenoord for a 9 million pounds fee in August 2006.
After failing to reach to an agreement with different clubs over the subject of his salary, the Dutchman finally agreed to sign a deal with Fenerbahce who will reportedly pay him 2.2 million pounds per season.
When asked to comment on his future challenges in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Turkey-c3026, Kuyt revealed that he was really excited about his new assignment and that Fenerbahce had eased his future dilemma by offering him good terms.
He continued, “I had interest from several clubs in Europe and once Fenerbahce came in for me, with the ambition they have as a club, and also by showing how much they wanted me, for me it was an easy decision to make.”
He also recalled his hat-trick against Manchester United at Anfield during the 2010/11 season and felt it was the high mark of his career.
He added, “That was obviously a real special moment-to score a hat-trick against our biggest rivals.”
He went on to say that he joined Liverpool with an ambition of winning trophies and was glad to play a role in his side’s Carling Cup triumph in February.
